Wheat Steak is a small batch, artisanal, sourdough bakery established in 2024 in Lee’s Summit Missouri by Chef Daniel Walker and Nikki Matheny. Our passion for food is deeply rooted in a commitment to local, authentic ingredients and a food system that supports whole foods and small, regenerative farms. Our mission at Wheat Steak is to provide an exceptional, wild yeast sourdough that is as nutritional, delicious and showcases organic grains from local mills and heartland farmers. In short, our goal is to create a spot in the community that celebrates Old World, fermented sourdough breads.
